Near Seocho Station (서초역), Seocho-daero (서초대로) is always filled with busy people and non-stop traffic. There is a space that feels as if a green comma was suddenly dropped between the buildings. That is 'Seoseokdae (서석대).' When you enter the spacious 140-pyeong area, the first thing that catches your eye is the lush garden nestled between the buildings. I never expected to encounter such relaxation in the desolate office district. Walking with the sound of leaves rustling in the wind as a backdrop, the noise of the city slowly fades away. The calm air you feel the moment you open the door tells you that this place is more than just a restaurant.

The Texture of Hanwoo Crafted by 17 Years of Expertise

The reason this place has been loved for so long seemed clear. It's not just because of the atmosphere. It contains the extraordinary discernment of a meat expert who has focused solely on Hanwoo for 17 years. The precious Hanwoo that comes up from Naju (나주), Hampyeong (함평), and Yeongsanpo (영산포) in South Jeolla Province has passed the strict standards of the meat connoisseur. As I scanned the menu, my eyes lingered on the word 'Kkotdeungsim (Flower Sirloin).' Seeing the meat with its vivid marbling, anticipation naturally rose. The savory aroma that spread when the meat was placed on the grill seemed to prove why it draws foodies here. It was a time to nod in realization that the story of numerous cultural and artistic figures, including Roger Clinton, having stepped through the doors of this place is no mere rumor.

A Lingering Walk in the Garden

After finishing my meal, I didn't rush to leave but strolled through the garden once more. The night scenery of Seoseokdae (서석대), where the sun sets and lights turn on one by one, has a charm different from the day. Although it is a space large enough for group dinners, the structure makes it perfectly suitable for focusing on private conversations as well.
