On a day when the humid air of midsummer still lingered, brushing against my cheeks, I headed to Hapcheon Image Theme Park (Hapcheon Yeongsang Tema Pakeu) located in Yongju-myeon, Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do. This place, peaceful during the day, wears a completely different face at night. The bizarre laughter heard from afar and the chilling breeze blowing through the trees are far from ordinary. This year, Ghost Park was divided into 4 zones, each holding a different story. The concept that I had to become a Ghost Hunter and protect this place alongside Rabbit Warriors was incredibly intriguing. What was particularly impressive was the 'coin system' operation. You could only encounter the deeper horrors by collecting coins through various experience programs on-site.

Three core zones called 'Murder Arcade' (Salin Sangga), 'Prison of the Dead' (Mangja-ui Gamok), and 'Anatomy Lab' (Haebuhak Silheomsil) delivered heart-stopping terror. The musty smell of mold, the mechanical screams heard from somewhere, and the costumes and acting of the ghosts suddenly blocking my vision were truly overwhelming. I felt with my whole body that the warning signs stating it is difficult for those with weak hearts, pregnant women, or the elderly/infirm to enter were not written in vain. It was a strange experience where the coolness of the night air felt welcome just as my hands were sweating from tension.

If you plan to visit, choosing the 'time' is more important than anything else. This is because the ghosts' costumes shine and the atmosphere matures only when the sun has completely set and deep darkness has fallen. It is much more immersive to arrive a little late rather than in the early evening to enjoy both the charm of the night and the horror. Note that it is easy to access using the Hapcheon Image Theme Park parking lot.
