The thick scent of time, which only a shop that has silently guarded its spot since 1973 can emit, filled the space. The warmth felt on the old wallpaper and the weathered tables immediately put my mind at ease.

I ordered the dakjjim (braised chicken), which is known to be the signature dish here. A spicy yet sweet aroma of seasoning rose from the large plate placed on the table, and my salivary glands reacted to the smell alone. The deep flavor created by the thickly sliced vegetables mixed with the chicken was different in quality from any chicken I had eaten before. Before picking up my chopsticks, I paused to catch my breath, intoxicated by the thick scent of the seasoning rising through the hot steam. As I put a piece of chicken into my mouth, the soft texture and the spicy flavor that followed created a perfect harmony. I didn't need to explain why it is so famous or why countless broadcasts and people visit this place; the sincerity felt on the tip of my tongue proved it all.

The Pyeonggeo-dong (Pyeonggeo-dong) area, where the restaurant is located, is a great place to take a walk along the calm waters of the Namgang River. When the river breeze brushes against your face, an indescribable surge of emotion fills you. It is recommended to visit outside of lunch or early dinner hours to enjoy the atmosphere of this 'nopo' more leisurely.
